Zest Hotel Harbourbay Batam

Zest Hotel is identical to the green color of electric leaves. This bright color often stands out from the surrounding buildings. Maybe there are still many who do not know that the real budget hotels are part of the Swiss BelHotel network. As per its philosophy, Zest services are of international standard but affordable, modern and minimalist. I had the opportunity to stay 2 nights at Zest Hotel Harbor Bay Batam in mid-April. And this is an experience that can be shared.

Front look. The zest Hotel building is actually ordinary, there is no unique architect, only in the form of a box with small windows arranged in order. It's just that, the facade of the building became very eye-catching because of the electric green color. The combination of dark green light slightly disguises the window which usually looks boring.

Location. This hotel stands in the Harbor Bay area of Batam, a neat new area. Blend with other commercial areas such as offices, malls, residential, entertainment centers. And what's more important is that this hotel is connected to the Bay Front Mall where the ferry terminal is located. The newest 5-star hotel in Batam, Marriot, is not far from the hotel location. The location is super.

Lobby As per the concept, the hotel lobby is very minimalist, there aren't many trinkets in this lobby area. The restaurant is on the ground floor right to the left of the lobby. What is impressive is that the lobby is very bright with natural lighting during the day because the front and sides of the ground floor building are clear glass.

Room. The rooms are quite spacious for a 2-star hotel with a small long shape. The part that I like is the hallway after the door comes in which is designed to tilt slightly so it gives the impression of relief. One wall of the room is covered with electric green wallpaper, while the other side is painted white. A small desk and a plastic chair complete this room, including a flat TV. There is no closet in the room, only a clothes hanger. An electric kettle is not provided in the room, but if you want it, you can ask the clerk.

Mattress. There is nothing special with the mattress, even lower than other budget hotel chains. White sheets and bed covers with medium quality linen. The hotel prepared 2 large pillows which unfortunately had been rather deflated. One more thing, the arrangement of the mattress is not neat enough.

Bathroom. Although small, the bathroom is pretty good. A shower with a hot and cold water setting works well. Other supplies of a solid soap, liquid soap, shampoo in the dispenser stick to the shower wall. A toothbrush and toothpaste were prepared, but I didn't use it. 2 towels were provided which were time to be replaced as soon as possible. Likewise, the floor towel has changed color. The closet is provided with a water hose, this is very much needed by Asian travelers like me.

Other facilities. There is a spa at the hotel but I didn't try it. Likewise with the restaurant and room service funds.

Wi-Fi. The hotel provides free internet access for guests, with decent signal quality. But I didn't use it, because the internet package in the gadget is faster.
